Long ago, there was a dinosaur. And, well, that dinosaur died. Hit by a meteor. Very unfortunate. But that’s OK, because that dinosaur had a Purpose! As its body sank into the earth and decayed, it was slowly transformed over millennia, over eons, into thick, gloopy black oil. Much later, humans would discover the internal combustion engine, then fossil fuels, then electricity and dynamos, and they would use this combination of ingenuity to provide electrical power to billions of people, providing clean water, safer food, and healthy pleasant living conditions.

And then one day, the oil that was our dinosaur was processed and fed into a power plant and used to shove electrons around make frames for cycling. and this was awesome because this was its Purpose, and all was well. Thanks Dino.
